At TheSmileZone, we believe everyone deserves access to essential dental care. Our outreach program delivers professional services directly to students at schools and members of the wider community in familiar and convenient settings. All services are completely free for schools, families, and community members, with no out-of-pocket costs. While we provide services free of charge, we seek insurance reimbursement when applicable with parental or guardian consent. Insurance is not required for anyone to receive our care. Rest assured, we will never ask families for payment. Our goal is to make dental care stress-free and accessible for everyone.

Why In-School Dental Care Matters

Good oral health plays a crucial role in a child's ability to learn and thrive. Yet, millions of children go without necessary dental care due to financial or logistical barriers. Here’s why school-based dental care is so important:

  • More than 51 million school hours are lost annually due to dental issues.

We use advanced portable equipment to set up a fully functional dental clinic inside your school. Our licensed dental professionals offer a range of preventive and restorative treatments, including:

Every student receives a detailed dental report, ensuring parents are informed of their child’s oral health and any follow-up care recommendations.

 Here’s how it works for Schools:

  1. Contact us to express interest in hosting an outreach event.
  2. We’ll help coordinate logistics with your school or organization.
  3. Our team arrives with portable equipment and supplies to deliver quality care.
  4. Children and families receive care, plus education and hygiene kits to take home.

 Here’s how it works:

  • We schedule a day for our dental team to visit your school. 
  • Prior to our visit we will send you consent forms and communication tools for parents and guardians.
  • Your teachers may hand out our consent forms and the students will take those home for signatures. Families who wish their child to participate will then bring those consent forms back to the school. (There is also a QR code & link provided for online forms)
  • We can coordinate a pickup, or your team contact person can send via email. 
  • On the day of the visit, the dental team will set up an in-school dental office and we will provide the necessary dental care.
  • Every student we see will get a dental visit summary and a TAKE-HOME DENTAL HYGIENE KIT.
